Today people celebrate it in many ways. Some visit graves, some participate in parades, some have picnics. What do you do to celebrate Memorial Day? Whatever you do to celebrate, take a moment to remember the reason for the day!
I am going to visit my grandfather's grave and spend time with my family.

ReplyDeleteOn Memorial Day I will have a water war with my friends. Next I will go spend time with my grandpa.After that I will go visit my local graveyard. Then I will go to Gettysburg to honer the people who fought in war. I will also see the American flag. Have a great Memorial Day!
ReplyDeleteMy family doesn't have any plans for Memorial Day.We might go to the pool if the weather is nice. The pool's name is Penn Oaks. We are also going to the movies. We also might stay at home.

ReplyDeleteI am spending time with my family probaly but I am not sure. I think Memorial day is not that fun. All our family does is eat and play some games. The children can't play most of the games. But I can. I hope alot of people have a great Memorial day.
ReplyDeleteOn Memorial Day my cousins and I go swimming.We swimm at my grandpas pool.We also do fireworks.Then we go swimming at my brothers friends house.There pool is heated.
ReplyDeleteOn this Memorial day I will be going to my cousin's house. We will be playing cricket. I will be also going to Springettsbury park. There I will go run down the hill and watch the fireworks. The fireworks are huge sometimes. I think its going to be this one.

ReplyDeleteFor Memorial Day we might go to New york to see our couisns and we might see fire works.Also we are going to go to the beach to swim.Next we might play with sparkelers.Sparkelres are a stike you set on fire and they sparkle.And that is what I will do for Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteEvery year for Memorial Day we go to my grandparents for a picnic. All of us go watch the Memorial Day parade in Wrightsville. The people on the fire trucks throw out candy to us. My family dresses in red, white and blue. This year my sister Sydney is playing volleyball at Penn State all weekend so we won't be at the family picnic. I will be watching her play volleyball. Boooorrrring.
ReplyDeleteOn Memoriol day I am going to the Red Lion park to honer the soilder's. I hope I hear my Great Granpa's name since he was in World War 2. I'm also looking forward to going to my cousins pool. I think Memorial Day is VERY important. It;s important because the soilder's risk their lives just to protect us.
ReplyDeleteFor Memorial day this year, we are going to the mountains to visit my grandma. She lives in Cross Fork in Potter County. There is a fishing derby early Saturday but we won't be there in time for it. I like going there because I can shoot my bow and arrows at a target. We also visit my grandma's friend's abode where we can ride his four wheeler.
ReplyDeleteOn Memorial day I have picnics with my mom. My family gets to together because my aunt died. My aunt dose not have a grave though.My family and I gets together and watches a movie. We always have popcorn. My mom says that Memorial day is REALLY important.
ReplyDeleteOn Memorial my family and I go on vacation to the beach. This year we have to cancel the beach because I have baseball tournament. But when we are down at the beach we go to ocean city. We also have our own camper down at the beach so that is pretty good since we don't have pay for a hotel. HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

ReplyDeleteThis Memorial Day I am going to do something that I have never done before on this holiday. I am going to be running a 9 mile Memorial Day race in downtown York. The course goes by all the memorials that are located in York and the money raised at the race will be used to maintain and build memorials in our town. It's an early race, starting at 7:30 so I will not be sleeping in that day. One thing that is traditional for my family is to cook out on the grill and eat outside when the weather is nice. It's always fun to relax with my family and that's what I want to do on Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteI really don't do anything for Memorial day, I actually didn't know that people celebrate Memorial day I just thought that it was a day were kids get a day off. But know that I know, I want my family and I have a cook with JUST my family. I want to do to because it's just a great time to do it. If we do have a cook out I am thinking that there will Hamburgers and hot-dogs. Then maybe swim with anyone who really wants to go swimming with me. After that I am hoping that I could have some friends over, and of course go to the ball park with my dad and have fun. I like to spend time with my family.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do during Memoreal Day is I go to one of my family members house and we have a celebration where we eat cake, get in their pool, eat some more,have some sodas, watch TV, play some games and so much more! We do this to celebrate the people who risks there lives to protect us and die for our freedom and rights! I think it is very fun and enjoyable. We do this annually on the Sunday before Memoreal Day.It is a time to have fun, have a laugh and to spend some time with each other and bond.
ReplyDeleteI sellabrate Memmorle with Waking up And going down stares to say Happy Memmoule day. Then we go out to bye little Amaican flags. By that time It is lunch so we go back home and we put the flags in the front yard and on the kichin Table. Then we have diner and light candels and put a flag on the Table and pray.

ReplyDeleteOn Marmoreal day I go to my Grandmas house and we have a big dinner. Pretty much all my cousins come too. We go out to the tree house or we play king and my second oldest cousin is king. He tells everybody what to do I'm am the guard a lot. Then we eat dinner and go home.
ReplyDeletewhat I hope to do this year for memorial day is and we ussaly do is we ethier go over to my gradmals pool or my cousins mostly my ggrandmals and my cousins come and we griil hotdogs and hamburgers. Sweat potato and corn grandmal makes I think it is the best then we go swimming with my cousins and play for the rest of the day or we spend 3 to 4 hours and then we go over to our cousins.

ReplyDeleteon Memorial Day I will go with my family to my grandmas and open up up her pool! After I open up my grandmas pool I will swim I it. Then my grandma and my brothers and my mom and me are going to my cousins to swim in there pool and play games and then eat lunch and dinner with them and then drop my grandma home at her house and then we will go home an that is what I am doing on Memorial day!
ReplyDeleteI always go to my older cousins house to celebrate Memorial Day. We call this event Crazy Cousins. We repel of a repelling platform. We also ordered a nice big dunk tank! I enjoy relaxing and talking with my older cousins and family! I also plan to sleep in and relax on the couch! When our school district has off this Monday my dad has to work so I also plan on spending time with my sister and my mother and go out somewhere and have a lot of fun!! We are doing something special on Sunday also! I love spending time with my moms family and my dads family! That is what I plan on doing over my three day weekend and also over Memorial Day!!

ReplyDeleteOn Memorial day weekend I will have a cook out and a camp fire with my neighborhood and friends we will play ladder ball we will bring board games and sleep in a tent and have fire works, sparkelers and glow sticks. It will be a very exiting night to sleep in a tent while it is raining outside with fire works! I hope all you people out there have a great Memorial day weekend!
ReplyDeleteI am doing something that I do not know about because my parents are constantly telling us to go some where else so they can talk with out having us being to loud. I hear my parents talk about it a lot but I can not understand what they are saying. Sometimes I get down on the floor and listen to them, then my brother comes over or I nave to wake him up so we can try to discover what we are doing for Memorial Day and I can not wait to find out. I think we may be going to Hersey Park or to my grandmas and grandpas house to give them some company. I can not wait till it is Memorial Day

(But the slid is broken not cool) But it is still fun sometimes have a water gun battle that is fun every eat. We may go to camping but not all of us will go camping I hope we go camping all of us.

ReplyDeleteFor Memorial Day I go to my yaya's house and watch the Memorial Day parade. I also go to my pop-pop's house on Sunday for lunch and we always have ham. I think of my pop-pop too because he was in a war but he didn't die of course. I always remember the people who fought for our country and won wars. I also think about Abe Lincoln because he was in the civil war. I don't think that I would like to be in a war though because I think it would be too sad. Instead, I just remember the people who were brave enough and how much they helped us. I know that I will never forget them even if I didn't know them. So I celebrate Memorial Day by thinking about the people who fought and watching the parade.
