I never new the first Olympic games were held in France in 1924. Northway has won the most medals 263 of them. Host Greece won the most medals 47 of them at the summer Olympics in 1896.

These are some cool facts about the winter Olympics. I did not know that there was so many sports that they do. I did not know that Norway won so many medals! the last thing I did not know no country in the southern hemisphere. That's what I did not know.

The five Olympic rings represent the five major regions of the world – Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe and Oceana, and every national flag in the world includes one of the five colors, which are (from left to right) blue, yellow, black, green, and red. The Winter Olympic sports are alpine skiing, biathlon (cross-country skiing and target shooting), bobsled, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hocky, luge, Nordic combined (ski jumping and cross-country skiing), skeleton, ski jumping, snowboarding, and speed skating. Those are some thing that I know now.

ReplyDeleteHere are three interesting facts that I learned today about the Olympics. The first one is Bjorn Dahlie won 12 medals for cross country skiing, the most ever in the winter Olympics. The 2000 Olympics were held in Sydney, Australia. Finally, Larissa Latynina won 18 medals during her career in the summer Olympics. I hope that these three facts helped you learn more about the Olympics.

One of three interesting facts I learned is that the Olympics was celebrated as a religious festival. The games were then banned because they celebrated the Greek God Zeus. Another one is that they play handball in the summer Olympics. Last is that the United States has won the most medals at the Summer games than any other country. These are the three interesting facts I learned.

2.The Games resumed in 1920 at Antwerp, Belgium, where figure skating returned and ice hockey was added as a medal event.
3.Seventy years after those first cold weather Games, the 17th edition of the Winter Olympics took place in Lillehammer, Norway, in 1994. And there are three things I did not know.
