Baseball season is getting into full swing. Baseball is one of the
first sports to have cards devoted to its players and teams. They
started in the 1800's! Many of the early ones were put out by companies
who used them to promote their products, tobacco and bubble gum
companies being two of the largest promoters.

Many people have collected baseball cards over the years. They were first introduced as a way for companies to advertise their products. Some baseball cards are worth a lot of money now.
ReplyDeleteI honestly, do not collect anything. However, I know people who have. My closest high school friend would drive herself bananas trying to collect all the McDonalds Happy Meal toys. When there was a series that she liked, she would go to McDonalds often in hopes of getting a toy she did not have. This same friend was a huge collector of Beanie Babies when they first came out. She collected them ALL. She loved the thrill of the chase, figuring out what Beanie Babies were available, which ones were going to be "retired" and what she was going to do with her ever growing collection. I wonder if Amy still has those toys. If she does, I wonder what she has done with them.
I said I didn't collect anything, but then I looked around my classroom. I have tons and tons of flamingos. I do love the way they look. They are silly and cute and make me smile. Most of these flamingos have been gifts from my students. I wouldn't imagine parting with any of them!
So...although I collect nothing at home, I do collect flamingos at school!

ReplyDeleteI collect pillows in weird shapes I have on as a soccer ball, one that looks like candy and mokeys.I also collect stuffed animales I have lots and lots and lots of them. Every were we go I look for some I might like and then I ask for it or my mom or dad will look for some for me. Also with the pillows I like to throw them around.
I heard that a lot of people collect baseball cards. Some are a lot of money now. I collect lacrosse balls and other lacrosse stuff. i collect lacrosse balls because i always lose them. I wonder what you collect.

DeleteI collect 1 thing and that is sea cells. I collect them because they are very pretty and it is hard the miss them if you are walking on the beach. I have a lot of sea cells some of them I got on the beach and some I got in the water when I am swimming. And some of my friends and family got them for me. And my uncle got me a really big one it was about as size as my hand and I keep a lot of them in a glass jar.Some of the small ones are next to my bedroom merrier I collect sea cells and I am wondering what do you collect.

ReplyDeleteI don't collect anything, unless its trophies, I collect them through the years of what sports I play. I like trophies because they remind me of the good and the bad memories that I had playing the sport or playing the game. That is the thing that I collect.
Lots of people like to collect things like baseball cards and football cards but, I am not a person who likes to collect things because if you decide decide to start to collecting to many things you will not know what to do with the thing that you have ben collecting.
ReplyDeleteThe other reason that I do not like collecting things is because I do not like to be frustrated and you have to get frustrated to be a collector. You have to be frustrated because if you can't find something that you really want for a long time it can get really frustrating.
That is why I do not like to be a collector.
I collect hockey cards and some hockey cards are worth a lot of money like, a Gretzky rookie card is probably worth $1000,0 ($1 million ) or something like that. My fun passion for collecting hockey cards will never end and I will a lot of of them in incoming years. And maybe only sell 1 or 2.
ReplyDeleteI collect cards like pok'emon cards and Yu Gi Oh cards. Pok'emon cards are trading cards that you can collect and trade. You can also battle with your friends. The Pok'emon company made a TV show about Pok'emon. Yu Gi Oh is almost the same exact thing accept it is harder because you have to really think about what card you will summon. This is how you play Yu Gi Oh:
ReplyDeleteFirst, you have 8000 life points and 5 cards in your hand. When you begin battle, you draw 1 card each turn. There is summon phase and attack phase. First you do summon phase. You can summon one monster each turn. You can place trap and spell cards to help you defeat the enemy. You can place as many spell and trap cards that you want on the field. Then there is attack phase. In attack phase you attack any monster you want with your monster. This is how you know if you win the monster fight. In the bottom right corner it shows numbers. If you fight a monster with yours, your number determines if you win or lose. Eg: 2000 vs 1700. The monster with 2000 would win. That is only SOME of the rules! There are tons of more rules. Thats why Yu Gi Oh is harder than pok'emon.
I colecte Stuff Pigs!I always loved pigs secnce I was like 2 there so cute!!!! I have like 200 thousand pigs. When I go to shop for stuffed animals I always ask if they have pigs.If they say no I go and look for pandas.I My 200 thousend stuffed pigs go on my 2 shelfs and my toy bin.Isome times sleep with them but when I wake up I look down and there all of my bed!One time I whent to the movie theater to see Muppets Most Wanted.Before the movie started My friend Abby and I whent to the
ReplyDeletearcade.We each got 50 dollors on our card.There was a crane matching and a stuff pig in there I looked and DARTED TO IT!I slid my card in then plan I won a......Monkey.I was still proud but it wasent a pig.SO I TRYED 4 MORE TIMES and then I FINALY GOT IT!!! I was so happy I got that pig yes I still had 20 dollors left.My friend Abby came over and tryed 10 times dinet get any thing she started getting fustrated so I won her a thig actshaly 3 THINGS!Iwon her a pare a dragon and dice.She wanted to have the dice and the drangon so i got the pear.And thats how you can tell I LOVE OVE LOVE LOVE pigs I would do anything for it or them.
I collect stuffed animals I collect them since they are soft and fluffy and I love to squeeze them since they are squishy some of my favorite animals are Sir Lord Pork Chop The Third I like him since he's a pig and pigs are my favorite animals, I also like my jamaican banana I like him since he has long soft jamaican hair and I love bananas, I also like my stuffed em & em since I love em & em's since they taste good and the stuffed animal is so squishy I love hugging it I have a lot more some don't even fit on my bed since I collect them so much.
ReplyDeleteI also collect rocks I collect them since my family gives them to me and I hope one day they will be worth lots of money.Once my grandma gave me a crab claw with a painting of the ocean sunset on the beach with dolphins she got it from ocean city I keep it with my rocks even tho it's not really a rock. My nanny gives me most of my rocks she gave me a rock that looks like it has algae on it but it doesn't I think.Once my nanny even got me a book about crystals and it had a real crystal my brother got one too! My favorite rock from my nanny is these two little rocks they are shaped like hearts my favorite thing that I keep with my rocks from my nanny is a snail shell that's cut in half it looks really cool inside.
My number one favorite thing that I collect is my duct tape I have over four bins of it I make lots of crafts with it and I love the designs I have pickle duct tape flying pig duct tape sparkle duct tape lots of duct tape I just love it and making crafts with it. I have lots more of collections like craft stuff,posters and lots more I hope nothing I like comes out or I will have so many collections I won't be able to count them all.

ReplyDeleteI am someone that LOVES stuffed animals! I have A LOT of stuffed animals!!! I have like 100 stuffed animals under my bed. I have like 100 in my basement. I love them all! It is really hard to play with them all because I have so many of them. I do not have time to play with all of them, but I wish I did.
I also like to collect baby dolls. I have a whole bin full of them. Plus I have more in my room. I love to play with them too.
I like to collect Littlest Pet Shops too. I want to try to collect all of them. I have some of them, but not all of them.
Finally I like to collect American Girl Dolls. I collect those with my sister. We have almost all of them. We like to play that together sometimes.
I am a collector of some different things!

I collect two dinnfrent things. One thing is pokemon. Pokemon are monster like things with powers, and each pokemon fights one another.
There are a lot of elements. Pokemon are fun to battle with.
The other thing I collect are quartz.
Quartz are rocks worth $5 tops. I collect quartz because I started a bissneus that sells quartz for money. That's how I get my money to buy pokemon cards.
I do collect some type of cards like Pokemon, Wresleing, and Baseball cards. Pokemon are little creatures that you can battle with. My favorite Pokemon and Wresleing are mew and Ray Masteryo because they are both very very cool. Wresleing cards have pichers of them to look at and the same with Baseball cards. I enjoy playing and looking because they look cool and I like battling with them. Do you have any of the cards I have?

I don't really collect anything but I do know someone who does. My friend collects different pencils. She collects pencils with cool patterns or designs on the sides. But she never sharpens them. She also collects Pokemon Cards. She has a lot!!!
So even though I don't collect anything I know someone who does!!!
I herd that baseball cards came out in the 1800's. I know someone who use to collect baseball cards that person is my brother. He use to collect baseball cards to see who the baseball player was and what team they were on. He tried to collect every one of them but then he got tired of collecting them.
ReplyDeleteI collect stuffed animals. I collect them from build a bear work shop,a suvanears , stores like target, walmart, dices,five bolow, the doller store, toys r us. That is were I get my stuffed animals. I love Love Love Love STUFFED ANIMALS!
The rezone that I love stuffed animals is that they are so fuzzy and coudly. That is why I love stuffed animals. I love stuffed animals I collect them every were I go.
The animals help me feel safe. They keep me colme.
I really don't collect things but I have a lot of stuffed animals so I guess I collect those. But almost all the boys in my class collect Pokemon cards and I really don't know much about them but anyway I collect all kinds of stuff animals and that is really the only thing I collect.

I thinks its cool how they look in the water, especially at night. At my house I have one wooden turtle that I like to store stuff in, and two plastic turtles, and four stuffed animal turtles. I also want to get a turtle but i cant because it takes a lot of work to keep them healthy.

ReplyDeleteI collect Hockey NHL cards. I get to have players from all different area's in the United States on my cards. I have about 40 cards but I think I lost some. I don't trade cards because nobody really has any Hockey cards. I also have cards from the AHL like The Hershey Bears. That is what I collect what do you collect?
