Today people celebrate it in many ways. Some visit graves, some participate in parades, some have picnics. What do you do to celebrate Memorial Day? Whatever you do to celebrate, take a moment to remember the reason for the day!
What I do for Memorial Day is I dress up in red white and blue and where my Uncle Sam hat. I like to call both my Uncles and tell them that they are great because they are veterans. I like to talk to my friend Sam because he is crazy for the US Army. I love Memorial Day because Blue is a color of the flag and I LOVE blue. Also I have a lot of red, white, and blue stuff to wear. Plus red, white, and blue go perfectly together. But I will always take a moment to just think of everyone who has served us. I LOVE MEMORIAL DAY!
ReplyDeleteOn Memorial Day I go to the Green Valley Pool because it is the very first day it opens and this year I will have a moment of silence this year because last year I did not know why Memorial Day was celebrated. I like Memorial day because everyone gets American flags out and it is sort of like the 4th of July. I did not realize that Memorial Day was about all the soldiers that died in a war and I can not wait until Memorial Day because that is when the Green Valley Pool opens.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do on memorial day is my family go's to my poppy's house and just visit him and give him fresh cooked cookies that we made at are house. I do not know what else I do on memorial day but that is all I know what we do.
ReplyDeleteI might bake cookies on memorial day. We also might go on a hike at Nixon park and then go to Parydell farm. And we do at Parydell is we go and see cows calf's and chicken. That's what I am probably going to do on Memorial day!
ReplyDeleteOn Memorial Day I play with my brothers and sisters and sometimes do an activity with just my family. I usually read about it and I really appreciate those who fought for us. Also, a couple of my great ancestors were in the war.
ReplyDeleteTo celebrate Memorial Day we go to the fair grounds and see my grandfather's plaque on a brick that has his name on it. We also have a backyard barbecue at my uncles house, he is a police man. To me Memorial Day is a special day for me because a lot of my relatives were in something like a world war or something that helps to protect us. How about you?

DeleteI might bake cookies on Memorial Day to celebrate the people who sacrafist there lives to keep us safe. And I have a relitive that was in the war. He was only 50 I think when the war was done. He was one of the people who sacafist his life when Pennsylvania was going to war with Gemany.
ReplyDeleteOn Memorial Day I bake "American Cookies" and we make American flags and honor our brave troops that were in World War II, World War I and the "Civil War". We have a picnic by the park at Camelot Arms. Thats where we play the Civil War and i hope it doesn't offend the troops if it does I would be very sorry!
ReplyDeleteMemorial Day is really special to me. My Grandpa was in the war. So I go to his grave and sing THE NATIONAL ANTHEM. And have a BBQ.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do for Memorial Day is.I put flags in my yard so when I go outside to play I remember all the soldiers who protected us. My dads best friend was in the navy.

ReplyDeleteWhat I do for Memorial Day is have a feast and invite my family over. And my mom and I are some times sad because my great grandfather was in the war and drove a tank. And we also have a foot ball catch.

ReplyDeleteMy family goes up to my grandmas house and we swim in the lake and we go tubing and watch fireworks.Its really fun and my grandpa was in the Navy so thats why we go up.
ReplyDeleteMy dad's dad was in the war and he tried to help people. If they got shot or if they got hurt he would put them in the airplane and fix them up. On Memorial Day sometimes we call him and we say good thing's about what he did for us. He would smile when we tell him.

DeleteMemorial Day is a very special day! My pappap was in the Navy and my uncle was in the Army! that is something that is very special! On Saturday which is Memorial Day my pool also opens but thats not important. We are problably going to say thank you to my pappap an uncle!

ReplyDeleteOn Memorial Day my family goes to my Uncle John's house. When we're at my Uncle John's house we have a cookout. If it's not raining we get to go in his pool. My great grandpa and my grandpa were in a war. My Uncle James was also in a war.
ReplyDeletewell sometimes we go to are family member house or we take a trip to my moms uncle house that lives in erie pa and we go with my mom and grandmom and we stay for about three days and i have fun with my couisen too and my uncle and we stay up until late too so i dont kmow were we going this year am just going to have to wait and see.

My great great great great grandfather was in the Civil War. his name was Stonewall Jackson we will learn about him in 6th grade I love Memorial Day.

ReplyDeleteFor Memoial Day my mom dad and I go to my dads moms house and we have a fun picnick and eat a lot. We play and my dad and other people work on some stuff. we think it is relly fun. I love going to my dads moms house because I like the horses and spending time with my family.I would go to my dads moms house a lot if they would let me go on days like Memoial Day. so that5s what I do on Memorial Day. ReplyDeleteWespend time with family. he reason I do that is to get together with family. One reason I like to do that tradetion is beacause I get to see people I do not normally see. If you somtime go with your family then you will find out that it is kind of fun celabraiting with eachother. This is why I like to do on Mamorial Day!
ReplyDeleteWe have a picnic at my grama and papa's house. We do that so everyone can get on the four-weelers and the go cart. One of the reasons that I like the tradetion because I have fun spending time with the people that I usely don't get to see to much. Another reason is that I like the tradetion is because we get to ride on the go cart and the other things they have. Sometimes when I get bored I play on my moms phone. Somtime if you go out with your family you will find out that it is fun to celabrate with eachother. This is why I love Mamorial Day!

ReplyDeleteWe usually have a cook out on Memorial Day. My dad makes really good ribs for us. We also go to the pool that day. I love going to the pool. The only person in my family that was in a war was my great grandfather. He died two years ago.

Even if its eney day we do that.I love my grandma how dieed and we went to her grave yeared and now we are going a gen.Im so happy to go and if my mom dos die that is want Im going to do all the time. ReplyDeleteWhat we do for Memorial day is get together with my Mom's side of the family. Sometimes we go to my Dad's part of the family. Also, we put flowers on my great Grandpa's grave. We play hot poatatoe with water balloons. My family gets together and talks for a long time. I love Memorial day because my family gets to talk, laugh and other things. Don't you?
