Why is The Purple Teapot about Back to School when it is almost summer? That is because I want you to think about the advice you would give to someone who is coming into your grade next year. For example, if you are now in third grade, what advice would you give to second graders so that they might be successful in third grade? Be sure to include the grade in your advice and be very specific in what you think they should do.
I am in third grade and I think second graders have to now this. You have to now Math. You have to do ALL your homework. You have to be a good writer. You have to work hard.
ReplyDeleteI would give advice to 2nd grades. Make sure your paying attenion to the teacher. They should act like 4th graders. Do not play with your books,necklaces and braclets. Do not bring innappropriate stuff.
ReplyDeleteSecond graders going into third grade need to know that after the PSSA tests you will be rewarded with snacks. You need to read every night.Over the summer you need to practice your math skills. You need do your classroom job every day. Most of all just take your time and have fun
ReplyDeleteI loved getting snacks for the PSSA tests. Remember it is not about the snacks it is about the test. I will really miss third grade. Read a lot over the summer. Have a great summer.
DeleteI am in third grade and the advice that I would give to a second grader would be do your homework the day your teacher tells you what your homework is. I think that because then you will not do your homework at school the next day. I think that the second graders would love third grade. I loved third grade. Have a good summer!!!!!

ReplyDeleteSecond graders need to know in third grade you have to use your manners. You must raise your hand to ask a question. They also need to know that the PSSAs are not as bad as they think. The PSSAs test what you already know and after they are done you get to do fun things. You also do not get homework when you are taking the PSSAs.
ReplyDeleteThis is the advice that I would tell them. I would tell them that it would be great to have Mr. Sweitzer as her teacher. I would also tell them that you learn new things in geometry that you usually wouldn't know about. I would also tell them that you should do your homework every night. That is the advice that I would tell them.

My advice would be that when PSSA time comes you might be scared but remember that its just a test and if you follow these easy steps I think you might pass. 1. Get a good breakfast 2. Get as much rest as you can #. if you cannot sleep then close your eyes and go to your happy place.
ReplyDeleteIm in third grade and if your going to third gade and you do not know what to think I will tell you. You should work hard alot but do that in all the grades and you have to do math and writeing and they can be fun but I think that they are all fun relly and you should have fun to. Some times you get to hav fun in another way but I will not tell you you have to go and try it and you will like it I think I know it. You should also try to learn some multupcation because you have to learn it but it wont be as hard. Do not be scard if you think third grade is scary and hard it is not you can have a lot of fun and you can learn a lot in just third grade.

ReplyDeleteI advise all second graders that when they go to third grade not to be scared about the PSSA's and to just try your best and think about it. Another thing you should do is pay attention to the teacher at all times they are talking so you don't miss anything important. Just do the best you can!
ReplyDeleteHere's a tip. Try to make it stick in your head till 3rd grade. Your specials are in a different order, you have library 2 times. another thing is to do well on the PSSA's. To me, it's an easy test but maybe it's different for you. Do well in 3rd grade and see you maybe at North Hills.

Some information I would give to second graders for a successful year of third grade would be, to always practice and take your time on math papers. Another thing would be to concentrate on your reading and to pay attention to your work and to check your work to be sure you are happy with what you have written. In geometry try to remember all the similar shapes and different sizes shapes can be. Language can sometimes be a little hard but if you try again and think you can do it you will hopefully succeed.
ReplyDeleteHere's some advice for being in third grade. First don't chew gum in class you might need to spend some time on the wall if you do . Second don't eat on the bus or you won't get to sit with your friends. Thats all the advice you need.

If you get Mrs. Zellers she will give you a work out she also will do fun stuff with you guys like multiplication games with you.

Another one is to always pay attention to the teacher and never bother anyone else when there trying to pay attention. Another tip is to never talk to a neighbor and if you follow those rules you will have a great year!

When you see the packet it is big it can be hard and it isn't. There is math then writhing and it keep going. Never copy someone beside you or across from you. ReplyDeleteMy advice is NOT to worry about the 3rd grade, you take PSSAs but there easy but you wont get every question right. Do NEVER bring anything to school unless its special and you're sharing it at morning meeting. You're going to have fun in 3rd grade i guarantee it!!
