Hare or Hair
Words that sound alike but are spelled differently and have different meanings are called homophones. In the English language we have many homophones and it can, sometimes, get confusing as to which word to use.For example, in my last sentence I might have written witch instead of which. The words sound the same but they have VERY different meanings. Do you know the difference?
See how many homophones you can brainstorm with your classmates. Here is a link to a list of several to get you started. After you have gathered several examples, write a sentence or two that uses one set of homophones. Here are a few examples:
- Whether or not you liked the weather on Friday, the rain meant many football games were postponed.
- I am going to the store later to buy two quarts of milk.
- I cannot write the right answer without a pencil.

My mom's hair is short because she dose not let it grow. I have long hair because I let it go. My mom's hair is not the same hair than Me.

ReplyDeleteI am going to list a few homophones that I know of the first homophone is see as in I see a bear. and the second way to say the word see is a sea like the red sea . another homophone I know is bear like the animal bear and the another way you could use bear is my feet are bare. and the last homophone I can think of is hear as in I her the bees buzzing and look here

Example: I am going to get two lollypops for my brother and sister.
I read that you want me to to tell you some example of homophones so I will:
