Wow! Who knew? There is a National Sandwich Day and it is November 3! The sandwich is named after John Montagu, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich. According to legend, he ordered his servants to put a piece of meat between two slices of bread so he would not have to stop gambling in order to eat! Of course, sandwiches come in all sizes and shapes. You can make just about anything into a sandwich. Check out a few of these.
If they were to name a sandwich after you, what ingredients would you want in that sandwich? Here is mine:
The Purple Teapot sandwich would come on pumpernickel bread and have turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, sweet pickles, sweet peppers, and a little mayonnaise. It would come with chips and side of potato salad!
Now I am hungry. Guess I'll go make a Purple Teapot!

DeleteI heard you say what would you put in a sandwich named after you. In the Ella sandwich it would be 6 inches on whole wheat ham, American cheese, pickles, light mayonnaise , pickles ,bacon, lettuce and spinach. I like how you gave an exsample of a sandwich named after you. I wonder what you would put in a peice of candy made after you. Why did you not say how big your sandwich would be?

ReplyDeleteI would call my sandwich The Extra BLT it has so much toppings on it. Most of the toppings on the sandwich is lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mayonnaise, chips, bacon, olives, peppers, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, mushrooms, relish, four burgers, and especially the bun all stacked up. It takes a hour and a half to eat it. If I ever make The Extra BLT you should try it.

ReplyDeleteWell, I am a fan of sandwiches. I pack one in my school lunch every day. Typically they are either ham sandwiches or chicken sandwiches and always with some kind of cheese. My favorite sandwich would probably be chipotle chicken and cheddar on a pita. I'd warm that up first so the cheese is melted. Then I'd add fresh homegrown tomatoes, lettuce, and pickles. Yes, I really like pickles on my sandwich. I usually eat my sandwich with carrot sticks or some other crunchy veggie and I have a weakness...Doritos!
