Cinco de Mayo - or the fifth of May - commemorates the Mexican army's 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). In the United States, Cinco de Mayo has become a holiday to celebrate the Mexican culture. It is celebrated with parades and festivals across the United States and Mexico. 18. I like the Halloween parade. It has always been a family favorite because well one we just like to see all of the people dressed up in silly costumes and two is because when my sister and I little well littler my Pop-pop was in the Halloween parade. Man, was it funny to watch your Pop-Pop in a silly costume laughing. He gave us candy and necklaces and a whole bunch of other stuff. Another reason that I like the Halloween parade is because you can just get to see people just like you dancing and singing and just having fun. I always like to get up and dance during the Halloween! It is so much fun!

  19. I have been to an Easter parade in at my Yaya's house. I liked that one because it was fun seeing all the Fire engines and tractors. We even saw a class in the back of a truck with hay in it! I also like it because someone comes around and gives us all lollipops. The people in the tractors and things like that also throw candy! The celebration was Easter, of course and it seemed all of where my Yaya lived was there. THAT"S how many people there were. I think my favorite part was being with my family, my Yaya, my Aunt Mandy and her dogs was my favorite part. I also liked watching the blinking lights of the fire trucks (without any noise,) and watching the kids go by in that truck. I could tell my brother's favorite part was the tractors and the fire trucks. I thought the Easter parade was really fun so every year we go to my Yaya's house at Easter, we always watch the parade. That was the best parade for me EVER!! 

  20. One of my favorite parades I go to in the summer is the 4th of July parade up in Cape Cod. I have a house up there and every year we go there. My favorite part is that the kids all get to be in the parade. We all get a scooter or a bike and we all race around the track. It is really fun. I like that part because I get to ride one of my favorite things. A bike. Also you get to race people and there is no first place prize so nobody feels bad. I think it is interesting because all the kids who ride there bikes or scooters get to decorate them with decorations for the 4th of July.It is really cool to see all the pretty decorations that 4 year olds up to 12 year olds put on there bikes and scooters. At the end you get to all go to someone house and eat icecream and have cake and just celebrate the 4th of July. That is what I like about the 4th of July parade in cape Cod.
