Thanks to everyone who wrote a response last week. It was so interesting to see what each of you like about the York Fair. I hope you enjoyed reading the responses from your friends! Let's continue to learn more about each other.
Most everyone likes some sport. I love to swim and try to swim at least three times each week. It is calm and peaceful in the water and just seems to relax me. I don't swim on a team but think it might be fun to do.
What is your favorite sport and why do you like it? Perhaps you like team sports or maybe you like to ride your bike or do something else by yourself. Tell us all about it!

ReplyDeleteYou mention that your favorite sport is swimming because you feel at peace in the water. Water is calming. Last year I took swimming lessons for the second time as a grown up. My stroke and kicking is strong, but I have never quite gotten the breathing down. Luckily, there is still time!
Wondering if you have been swimming since you were a child and if you swam on a team when you were in school.
My favorite sport is jogging and one of the reasons I like it is the same reason you like to swim. I find it to be peaceful and calming. That being said, I also have a friend that I jog with. Having someone to keep me company is also fun. Being active is important for me as there are times during the day where I am sitting in front of a computer...not much movement then!
Can't wait to hear what sports and athletic activities other people enjoy participating in!

DeleteThis is Deanna. I love gymanastics the most (but I am also on the swim team) here in York. I am on the Level 3 Team and my favorite event is Floor. In swimming, my favorite stroke is freestyle. Usually in the medley relay, I swim Breastroke because I am fast at that! I still take lessons to help with Butterfly.

DeleteMy favorite sport is softball and competitive cheerleading. I like softball because I like to slide. I like competitive cheerleading because you can do backflips and front flips. I heard that you like to go swimming. I like to do that to but I like to do these sports a little bit better. Do you like to play or watch any of the sports that I mentioned.

DeleteWhat I like to do for fun is water squrit smackdown! What you have to do is pick a water gun fill it up whith cold or warm water wait for the referee to prounouce your cool fighter name and your oponets name.The battle is the part that gets you moving! What you have to do is squrit your oponet with your water in the belly,back,and/or arms.If you face shot your out!

DeleteMy favorite sport is baseball I like to catch and bat. I play for the panthers RBI league we are allow to do a lot of things like lead, steal, and all kinds of stuff like that. And that is why baseball is my favorite sport.

DeleteMy favorite sport is swimming and my favorite strokes are freestyle and elementary backstroke. I also like Irish dance but I don't know if it is a sport or not. I like Irish dance because I get to perform on stage and you get to put curlers in your hair and when you wake up in the morning your hair looks all crazy!

Hey Mrs.Sheffer I read that you like to swim. I liked that you wrote what your favorite sport was instead of just asking what our favorite sport is. Where do you go to swim? Here is my favorite sport. My favorite sport is gymnastics. I am on team and in level four. I used to have swimming lessons but not any more. I also like football. The team I like is the Atlanta falcons because my dad is from Atlanta,Georgia.

I also enjoy how it's not to easy to play. It gives you a chance to learn how to play Tennis the right way and develop strategies about how to win or how you would like to hit the ball.

DeleteI do gymnastics and swimming and I also ride horses. I like riding horses because my mom rides them to and they are just really fun. I like swimming because I get to cool off sometimes and sometimes on cool days I still want to swim. Gymnastics is fun and it is good exercise.
Hi! My name is Andrew. My favorite sport is hockey. My brother and me play for our local hockey team The York Devils. The reason I like hockey so much is because I like shooting and passing. My favorite part is defense.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite sport is soccer. I like soccer because I have strong foot power. I also like soccer because it gives you good exercise and because I have a lot of friends who also like to play soccer. I also like to go outside after school and practice my dribbling around the house because I want to be a good soccer player when I grow up. The position that I play for soccer is center mid and when you are playing center mid you are the person who runs the most on the whole entire soccer field besides the person on the other team that is playing the same position.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite sport is to play is soccer. Soccer tests your abilities as a mover. Moving your feet to a certain position can win a game for you. Soccer is a hard game to play but it is fun. It's the best feeling in the world to score a goal. At my house I kick soccer balls at my fence. Sometimes my little brother comes outside and we have 1v1. Soccer is very tiring, you have to be fast and have lots of stamina to even reach the ball. As a goalie you have to be ready for the ball to come your way and you have to be agile. Sometimes a ball can go in the net and you have no idea what happened.My favorite sport to watch is football. There is always action and sometimes funny to watch. For example last year when the replacement refs came, they made terrible calls. Some of the calls were so bad that it was hard not to fall over laughing. It was fun when the power went out in last year's super bowl. It was out for like a half hour. During that time my family just sat down and ate popcorn. Football is a sport that is hard to stop watching. If you switch the channel you wonder who won. Sometimes people make amazing plays. I hate the Ravens but last year when they ran the ball back from a kickoff to the endzone it was awesome. My favorite team is the Steelers, but even other Steelers fans know that they are going to be terrible this year.

Mrs. Musone: I notice that the sport you love to play is different than the sport you love to watch. You enjoy the action and stamina of soccer when you play. It feels great when you score a goal. When you are watching football you are always looking for the great play that may happen and also to find out who wins. You gave lots of details and shared things you love about each sport. Wondering if you enjoy watching soccer or playing football sometimes.
My favorite sport is swimming because I like to play in the water with my Dad. He will throw me in the air and I can do a flip and it is FUN! I also like it because I can buy water toys to play with in the pool. I also have a water gun that I play with in the pool that can shoot water all the way from the shallow end to the deep end. I like going to the pool!

I mostly swim free style - lots of laps! I have not played field hockey in a lot of years but it always thought it was fun. Not so much for softball though. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteMy favorite sport is archery because when you let go of the string it sometimes makes a funny sound. archery is also fun because if you let go of the arrow you can hear how hard you hit the target, and the louder the arrow the more power. Archery is also challenging because you have to shoot with two eyes open or else your putting to much stress on your eye muscle so your shot would be wobbly. Archery is very fun because you get to see where your arrow hit on the target.

DeleteMy favorite sport is the Baltimore Orioles. They are a baseball team. They are also my favorite colors. My favorite colors are orange and black. My favorite player is Nick Markakis because he is a contact hitter and so am I. There are lots of reasons why I like baseball. I like baseball because I like running, sliding, diving, hitting, and fielding. That is why I like baseball and I also play with my uncle (Ryan) who is really good.
