Currently, I am reading The Boys In The Boat. It is a non-fiction book that takes place in the 1930's. This is the time of the Great Depression. The Great Depression was a time in history when lots of people lost their jobs, their homes, and their savings. This story focuses on a group of boys attending Washington University. They are on the rowing team, the sport where people in a boat row quickly to try to cross the finish line. Right now, the boys have won both of their races and I am wondering if, perhaps, they will go to the Olympics. Why? Well, they have made mention of the Olympics that will take place in Germany and I am thinking that these events will be tied together. I love reading this story and seeing actual pictures of the people mentioned in the book.
